GAYLORD: Our Own Little Story of the Gaylords (Softcover) 1923
By Isabel Brooks
This booklet, Our Own Little Story of the Gaylords, covers the ancestral line of William Gaylord or Gaillard (1583-1673) who came to America in 1630. The family is of French-Huguenot extraction. In this line is the Lieutenant Aaron Gaylord, who was killed at Wyoming and whose wife Katherine and three children fled for their lives back to Connecticut. Mary Phelps, the grand daughter of Aaron Gaylord, told the story as she was told it by her grandmother Katherine (1745-1840).
