Samuel Ames, born 1723, went to Canterbury from Newfield about 1749 where he bought and occupied a farm. He married Hannah Dolloff and together they had four children. This book contains the first through fifth generations as well as the Thomas Hoyt family in addition to the Samuel Ames family.
