Robert Anderson I, the earliest Anderson to whom the Gold Mine family may be positively traced, married Cecilia Massie and together they had nine children. His birth date is not listed but it is recorded that he died in 1712 at age 72 so it can be assumed that he was born in 1640. One of his sons took over his 727 acre property and the family from Goldmine, Virginia eventually dispersed throughout the states. This book traces the line of Robert Anderson and also includes various letters.
