Captain John Ayres, of Ipswich in 1648, married Susanna (Symonds) Ayres and years later they moved to Brookfield, Massachusetts with their seven children. John Ayres was later killed there in a fight with the Native Americans and his family returned to Ipswich which was deemed safer. This book serves as a record of descendants of Captain John Ayres of Brookfield, Massachusetts.
