This is a record of the Cornell Family, with descendants of George Cornell born in 1550 in Bumstead Essex, England. Through his line, Thomas Cornell came to America in 1638 with his wife and children to Boston, moved to the Portsmouth settlement, then moved to New Amsterdam, where they escaped the massacre of Indians and returned to Rhode Island.
