This is the history and genealogy of the Davenport family in England and America, from 1086-1876. Rev. John Davenport migrated in 1637  to Connecticut , he was the founder and patriarch of New Haven, Connecticut and founder of Yale College. He laid the foundation of an Independent State and Church. This genealogy focuses on Abraham Davenport, Sr., (1714 to 1789) his descendants and connections.
