Googins Family in America 1914
By Charlotte H. Googins
Tradition says Patrick Googins came to America from Ireland at an early age and was in the service of William Pepperrell at Kittery. He was a woolen weaver by trade. He married Mary Rogers, daughter of Richard Rogers, Jr. in 1722. His estate inventory is shown. He died at the age of eight-four on the estate given to him by his father in law at Pepperrellborough of Old Orchard, later called Ocean Park. At the time of his death he left six sons and one daughter.
