This brief account of the history and genealogy of the Gordon family of Nethermuir begins with David Gordon, a son of James Gordon lll of Haddo. He married the goodman of Archencrives daughter Miss Maitland, and they had sons and daughters. David Gordon was born about 1540 and died in 1595, the date on the Nethermuir Tomb in the church yard of Old Deer.
