The Grady family of North Carolina descended from William Grady who emigrated from Ireland and settled in Bertie County near the close of the seventeenth century. This is the lineage of William's son, John Grady (1710-87) and Mary (Whitfield) of Dobbs and Duplin, with some of his descendants, including names of some who served in the Revolutionary War.
