This is the history of Levi Greene (b. 1759), a Revolutionary patriot, of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan and His descendants. His father was Timothy Greene (b. 1725), and this being the line of John Greene of Quidnessett, who came from England in 1635. Levi Greene was married to Asenath Robinson and they had eleven children. In July, 1776 records show he volunteered for nine months as "Ranger" under Captain Baldwin in Albany County,  New York in "cathing Tories and guarding property" until Dec., 1776 when he was ordered to Fort Constitution near West Point. He continued to serve.
