This is the genealogy of the Greenleaf family through Edmund Greenleaf, the common American ancestor, who live from 1600-1671. It is believed the ancestors were Huguenots who left France on account of their religious principles. Edward was born in the parish of Brixham, county of Devonshire in England, about 1600. He married Sarah Dole and they had several children born in England. In 1635 they came to America. When his first wife died and he married again, apparently this was not a happy marriage as we see written in his last will and testament.
