This book gives the records of the Griswold, Crane, Paddock, Howes, Smith and Russell Families and their relationships. A historic collection on these families show their lineage. The Griswold family from Kenilworth, England records begin with Francis Griswold, his son George (bapt April 28, 1548) and his sons Edward and Matthew who came to America in 1639. A biographical sketch is given on Colonel Thaddeus Crane, who served in the Revolutionary War, wounded at the Battle of Ridgefield CT with Gen Daniel Wooster. In the supplement to this book we read about Fanny Crosby, the blind poetess and famed hymn writer who was a great grand daughter of Col. Thaddeus Crane and Sarah Paddock.
