In 1633 the William Wilkes family came to Boston and had with them in their company a young girl of good family and education, a relative, named Jeanne Woollen. She lived with the family. She married John Hall, who served in the Pequot War, and was a free planter of New Haven. In 1669, John Hall, Sen was classed among 'The Principal men' on a list of freemen.
