This is an account related to the ancestry and family of John Hall of Wallingford, CT. The name of Hall is an ancient one and well known in England. They were among the early emigrants to settle in America. In 1633 the William Wilkes family came to Boston and had with them in their company a young girl of good family and education, a relative, named Jeanne Woollen. She lived with the family. She married John Hall, who served in the Pequot War, and was a free planter of New Haven. In 1669, John Hall, Sen was classed among 'The Principal Men' on a list of freemen a signer of the New Haven Planters covenant, June 4, 1639. He held importance in the community.
