HART: Joseph Hart and his descendants 1901
By C. C. Hart
This book follows the fascinating journey of Joseph Hart. Earlier, Mr Hart and his wife, both Scotch-Irish Presbyterians, left Wales to emigrate to America in 1735. They left their native home on account of persecution directed against Presbyterians and Covenanters, that they might worship God freely. During their four month voyage the husband died and his widow gave birth to a son, named Thomas. They landed at Bordentown, New Jersey where she brought her son up. Thomas married and moved to Virginia. In June 1761 Joseph was born. He was the only child of his mother died in his infancy. These are Joseph's descendants.
