This is a genealogical narrative of the Hart family, with a focus on Thomas  Hart who came from London, England to Virginia in 1690, and his descendants, to 1881. He settled in Hanover County, VA., where he died. His only son was also Thomas, who married Susanna Rice. His son, Thomas, became an officer in the Revolutinary War. The family resided for many generations in the areas of North Carolina, Maryland and Kentucky.
