HEINER: History of the Heiner family 1929
By Daniel Brodhead Heiner
A history of the Heiner family, including military records of family members who served in America's wars from the Revolutonary War to World War (1). This genealogy begins with the marriage of Ann Garton Brodhead to Casper Heiner of Reading, Penna. Her father was General Daniel Brodhead, of Revolutonary fame and Surveyor-General of Penna, Soldier, Indian fighter, and Statesman. He lived in Northampton also Monroe County, and East Stroudburg, Penna. His service in Penna is interesting as he served under General Washington with whom he became personally acquainted. His great grandfather, Daniel Brodhead was a royalist and Captain of Grenadiers during the reign of King Charles ll. He came to America in 1664 with an expedition to capture New Amsterdam and make New Netherland an English province.
