This is the diary of Joshua Hempstead, covering the years from 1711-1758, with an account of a journey made from New London, Connecticut to Maryland. Valuable genealogical data relating to many New London families, referencing the colonial wars, prices of wages, merchandise descriptions, records of births, deaths, marriages, shipping, and matters of interest to the town and the times. Joshua Hempstead lived from 1678-1758, and was married to Abigail Bailey , 1676-1716.
