This short book gives an account of the genealogy of the Hill familiy from 1610 to 1895. It includes a biographical sketch and descendants of Melanchthon Hill of CT. He was settled in Farmington, referred to as 'Lank' as an abbreviation. The birth of Ebenezr Hill in 1656, his son, was one of the first born of the early settlers of the town.
William Hill, and Melanchthon Hill may likely have been brothers or father/ son. Both arrived to New England about 1632 and 1633. William settled in Massachusetts, first in Dorchester then to Windsor and then Fairfield, where he died in 1650. Sarah was his wife and they had six children.
