James E. Hixson & Zella Armstrong

The first edition to this book was published in 1940. The name is spelled in many ways, and includes Hixson, Hickson, Hixon, and believed a generic relation exists among them all, since all are found in the British Isles. Early records are seen when a member of the family was knighted by King James 1, of England in 1617.  In this line, the family came to Tennessee from Virginia about 1833.
