The Hollingsworth family genealogical memoranda in the United States, from 1682-1884. The family is of Saxon descent, records from 1022 A.D. in N.E. Cheshire, England. The name is derived from Holly Tree and Worth (a farm) location Mottram. This collection was commenced by Dr. John Neill of Phila, PA in 1869 and this edition was added to that pamphlet to 1884. In America, Valentine H. came with William Penn in 1682, a member of the Society of Friends. By tradition he was born in England about 1630, married to Catherine, daughter of Henry Cornish, High Sherriff of London, and she was executed unjustly during the reign of James ll, Oct 23, 1685.
