Descendants of George Holmes in America to 1928. He came to America from London, England. (book states) around the middle of the seventeenth century.) He was an officer in the King's Army, and resigned his position upon coming to America. He enlisted at Virginia and served in the defense of his new land during the Revolutionary War. He was married to Anna Hill and they had thirteen children, including two sets of twins.
