Descendants of Rev. Thomas Hooker, Hartford, Connecticut, from 1586-1908. Mr. Hookers acts and positions are recorded in the Puritan Records of the fugitives who fled from England to Holland. He was pursued by the Arch Bishop and about 1630 was arrested and put under bonds to appear before the Ecclesiastical Courts. Forfeiting those bonds, he fled. In 1633 he came to America. He settled as the pastor of the church at Newtowne, Mass., established along with many who had left England with him.
