This book delves into the early history of the family, and the extensive the genealogy of the Hord family in England and America.The origin is Scandinavien and the family traces it's ancestry to the year 1215. The first part is written in 1838, a manuscript included by Robert Hord. The second part continues to 1898. John Hord was born in Ewell, England in 1664. He came to Virginia in 1685, the first representative of the family in America. It is supposed that he was engaged in the rebellion of the Duke of Monmouth against King James II and came to America after that defeat. * Note Theauthor wrote A Supplement to the Genealogy of the Hord Family, 1915.
