HUTCHINSON: A Brief Narrative of the Hutchinson Family: Sixteen Sons & Daughters of the "Tribe of Jesse." 1874
By Joshua Hutchinson
The history of the family dates back with earliest records shown in 1282, and the pedigree of this family is traced six centuries, (to 1870), beginning with Bernard Hutchinson of Cowlam, in the County of York, a parish of Yorkshire. This ancestry shows those descended from Jesse and Mary Hutchinson of Milford, New Hampshire during the years 1777 to 1868. They were farmers by trade and musicians who became well known in their area. Sadly, Jesse was the first born son and met a tragic untimely death at the age of nine, and a daughter died at the age of four. All the children were fond of music and good vocalists. Eleven sons and two daughters gave a Thanksgiving concert
