This book provides the fascinating story and descendants of William and Rachel (Tomlinson) Jackson. William was born in Reading, Berks County, Penna., in 1780, the son of Samuel and Mary Jackson. They were Quakers, attending the Exeter Meeting of Friends. His father was called the 'Hatter of Reading' as the family specialized in hats, shoes, and clothing, made to order. His father died when he was fifteen. He married Rachel T., of Bloom Twp in 1808. She was not Quaker and in marrying 'out of meeting' he lost his church membership. They had ten children and were married 58 years until her death. 

Included are insights into the family history and ancestral lines. It reflects on the family's legacy, their settlement in America.  Individual sketches offer details of professions, public service, marriages, illnesses, and children of various family members. It  provide a glimpse into the diverse lives and experiences of the family members.
