An insightful family genealogy, a record of the descendants of the Bartholomew Jacoby family of Berks County, Pennsylvania (c.1747-1830). He married Maria Catherine Mayer about 1770 in Berks Cty. A tax list of 1775 of Pine Grove Township, Berks Cty show Barthel.  His name is also seen as Barto or Bartel in places. Family tradition tells that he served in the Revolutionary War, as he signed the Berks Oath of Allegiance in 1778.
