JAMESON: The Jamesons in America, 1647-1900. Genealogical records & memoranda 1901
By E. O. Jameson
The Jamesons in America have come from a common ancestry in Scotland. Some came to America directly from there, while others first went through Ireland. The name had it's origin in a Highland clan - The Clan of Gunn. In as early as 1647 James Jameson and his wife, Sarah, were residents of Boston, Massachusetts Bay. He died in 1661 and she lived to 1696. They had five children and these are the descendants to 1900. Many illustrations and portraits accompany the genealogical records and brief biographical sketches are included for some of the family members, with information on allied members, such as the Harvey line, and the family in Pennsylvania.
