Gordon Thompson (1813-1892), son of John Thompson and Isabelle Anderson, was born in Giles County, Virginia. He married Jane Clements (1813-1862) in 1839. Her ancestry is traced to Elizabeth Fuller Clemens, widow of Jeffrey Clemens of London. She immigrated to Virginia in 1611.
