This extensive book provides a glimpse into the early origin and history of the Clan Gregor / MacGregor, with ancient pedigrees, and historical sketches of some of the ancestors. This clan became the object of the strongest persecution and most severe enactments and we see how this came about. Though not the focus in this book, we know that William Penn visited Ireland in 1678 and converted many Scottish settlers to the Society of Friends. The Gregs were receptive to his teachings and many emigrated to America.
