Ezra Goff, a Revolutionary War veteran, had descendants spanning eight generations, including children named Alvin, Catherine, Charles, Amy, Maud, and Sarah. The family history highlighted their lineage and contributions to various generations. The study provided insights into their lives, aspirations, and challenges faced over the years.

This history relates to the Howland family, of brothers, Henry, John and Arthur, with a focus on Henry and his descendants. John Howland of the Mayflower, who was born in 1592, the son of Henry, and shortly after his brothers who also came to America. Two of the Howland family lines ended in heiresses. Ruth married Thomas Cushman, David married Joanna Billington, Desire married John Gorham, and Lydia married John Sargent. The Pilgrims formed a civil body politic for the colony's better ordering and preservation. Joseph Howland married Elizabeth Southworth, and Thomas Howland married Joanna Cole.

Samuel Bliss and William Chase were early settlers with descendants in Rehoboth and Yarmouth. Samuel's son, Samuel Goff, held the rank of lieutenant and was involved in operating a store and sawmill. Their lineage intertwined with historical events and community development, shaping the local landscape and contributing to the region's growth.

A significant event was the unveiling of a monument in memory of Ezra Goff, a Revolutionary War veteran, and his family. Notable descendants, including Yale's president, Benjamin Spock, and renowned writer Ralph Waldo Emerson, were recognized for their achievements and contributions to society. The dedication ceremony honored their legacy and celebrated their impact on future generations.
