Peyton F. Carter, III

Rufus Barton, son of Captain Edward Barton of Barbados, left Lancashire, England to pursue the freedom to practice his Quaker faith and in 1640 he settled in Amsterdam (now modern day New York). This book tells of one family's sojourn through Rhode Island & Virginia during the nation's formative years and includes the descendants of Rufus Barton.
