This book gives the history of the Canby family of England and America, a memoir, taken primarily from the notebook of Benjamin Ferris gives the history and genealogy of William Canby (1748-1830) of Brandywine, Delaware, and his descendants, from the 4th to 7th Generations in America. William was the grandson of Thomas Canby who came to America in 1683. William married Martha Marriot, of Bristol, PA in 1774. Includes a letter from Thomas Jefferson dated September 18th, 1813, Monticello.
