By John T. Hassam

Ezekiel Cheever, son of William Cheever, was born in London January 25th, 1614 and came to Boston in New England in June of 1637. He went to New Haven, married, and taught school. He was the famous master of the Boston Latin School. He wrote numerous essays and books. This book gives a record of his life and some of his descendants, esp those through his eldest son, Rev. Samuel Cheever (born in 1639). Samuel was one of the ministers consulted in relation to the witchcraft troubles in Salem Village in 1694, and one who petitioned the General Court in 1703 regarding the trials, as innocent people being accused.

A portion, from p. 37 to the end is in latin.
