This book is meant as a supplement or improvement to the author's 1912 booklet. It gives the Custer family history and genealogy. In the year 1684 the family of Paul Kuster, a native of Kaldenkirchen, emigrated from Crefeld, Germany along with twenty-eight other emigrant families and settled at Germantown, Penna. These families formed the second German colony to settle there. The first colony of thirteen families to settle there  in October  of 1683 were Mennonites.
