This is the history of the Dove family and their descendants in Connection with Cullercoats, Northumberland. Also an account of the Dove Marine Laboratory by J.J. Lish and the History and Purposes of the Laboratory by Professor A. Meek. The erection of the Dove Marine Laboratory for the Armstrong College for the study of marine biology was on the property owned by the Dove family. Wilfred H. Hudleston offered to build, at his own cost, a new structure. It was opened in September, 1908.
