ELLIOT: The John Elliot family of Boscawen, NH 1918

  • 2000

By Henry Ames Kimball

This is the story of the John Elliot family of Boscawen, New Hampshire. We see the name with various spellings, including Eliot, to be determined on the different family branch. The settlement of Boscawen was begun in 1734, when thirty-three pioneers from Massachusetts and other coast towns pushed their way up through the valley. It was originally named Contoocook from the river. It was renamed in 1760 after a general.
