Highlights of the Folger family, with a brief genealogy. John Folger and his son Peter came to America in 1635. They settled in Dedham, then in Watertown, Massachusetts. His wife was Merribah Gibbs.Their son, Peter  married Mary Morrill, who is said to have been a passenger on the same ship as him, and that he paid twenty pounds for her passage. She was the mother of ten children, all born on Martha's Vinyard, except the youngest, Abiah, who was the mother of Benjamin Franklin. PeterFolger and Reverend Thomas Mayhew learned the language of the Indians and were missionaries to them. They taught the Indians the English language. Typescript.
