This is a look at the Gates family history and genealogy, beginning with the first in England, to the family in America. This is a focus on Silas Gates of Stow, Massachusetts and his son Paul Gates of Ashby, Mass. Stephen Gates and his wife Ann (Hill) early settlers to New England, came in 1638.  Settled at  Hingham and moved to Lancaster, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. He died there in 1662. These are his descendants.
