Mr. & Mrs. David Gerig

These are the descendants of Johannes (John) Gingerich (Jungerich) and Catherine Schlabaugh (we also see it spelled Cathrian), immigrants from Germany to America in the 1830's. They had one son and six daughters, all born in Germany. They were Amish Mennonite and this branch has lived in Holmes County Ohio, Davies Co, Indiana, and parts of Illinois and Iowa. Information on several related family names are given, such as Hershberger, Troyer, Kauffman. Johannes lived until 1854 and Cathrian until 1848. They are buried in Ohio on the farm that was owned by their son at the time.
