This short book provides the ancient Grenville family pedigree, with the descent of Hugh R.C. Birley and Bevil L. Birley from Sir Bevil Grenville. The importance of the family in a national sense began early in the sixteenth century and continued to the eighteenth century, when the male family line became extinct. There are sketches of soldiers and sailors of distinction.
