This is an account of the Hale family of Virginia and Tennessee. It begins with a look at Nicholas Haile (Heale) of York County, a planter, who in 1654 gave power of attorney to Dr. Thomas Roots in Lancaster Co, Penna. Next we see land grants in Virginia with references to Heale, Hail, Hale, Haile, and Francis Heale 1300 acres between Petomecke and Rappa Rivers in 1663. Also listed are Haile, Hale family Revolutionary soldiers of Virginia and Tennessee. Also provided are many other tax lists, deeds, and various notes and accounts on Hales from County Records.
