HARDAWAY: Thomas Hardaway of Chesterfield County, Virginia and his Descendants 1906

  • 1600

Sarah Donelson Hubert

This is an account of the lineage of Thomas Hardaway of Chesterfield County, Virginia and his descendants. Read the fascinating account of how he came to America, as a kidnapped young boy, who was taken in by Joseph Thomas, a Quaker of Philadelphia. He owned the ship that sailed from England to America in 1685. On board that ship was a little boy who was dressed in green silk velvet trimmed with gilt, and too young to give his name. Joseph Thomas bestowed upon him the name Thomas Hardaway, and he educated him.
