Idress Head Alvord

From the intro: The name Head, anciently written Hede or Hide, is probably taken from the place written Hede in the Doomsday Book 1066. This place now Hithe, in Kent, England is where the earliest traces of the family are found. The early records in America show immigrants with the name Head came to Virginia Colony from England in 1636. Henry Head, planter, born in 1695. He married Frances Spence.
