This short publication is packed full of information concerning the history of the family and the descendants of David Hickernell of Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Penna. He was born in the Rhine Valley, France, about 1745. He arrived in Philadelphia in October 1768 on the ship 'Pennsylvania Packet'.  During the Revolutionary War David served as a corporal and private.
