Much has been written concerning the origin of the Houston family, seen in very early in Scotland and Ireland and as they came to America. This is a look at the family in Virginia, with a genealogical look at John Houston who came to America in 1735. First settling in Pennsylvania, then Virginia with his wife Sarah Todd. Their son was Samuel, a pastor of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church for forty years, where he is buried. Allied families are included.
