This book is a historical sketch of Reverend John Hubbard of Meriden, Connecticut, his ancestors and his descendants. He is the grandson of Rev. William of Ipswich. He graduated Harvard College in 1695 and settled as a pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, Long Island, New York in 1698. After seven years of ministry he died prematurely, in 1705, at the age of twenty-eight. His wife and two year old son soon moved to Boston.
