These are the descendants of the first Jarvis settlers of the name in Massachusetts and Long Island. Both in America and Europe, these individuals were part of a rich tapestry of family history that included marriages, births, deaths, and burials, land records, wills, hymns and music, and residences. Jervis, Jervies, Jervoys, Jervoise, Gervaise, Gervays, Jervies and more not mentioned are variations supposed to be one and the same name. The genealogy begins with Stephen Jarvis and his son, Stephen Jr. Stephen Jarvis Jr. had two sons born in 1683 and 1685.
