This book presents the Hale family genealogy and the descendants of Josiah Hale -fifth in descent from Samuel Hale of Hartford, Connecticut, 1637.  Josiah was the son of Moses and Mary (Edwards). The Hale name is of considerable antiquity in England. Contemporary with Samuel Hale in America was Thomas of Newbury, Mass and Deacon Robert Hale of Charleston, Mass 1630. From these three the Hales of New England are descended.
