The Hobbs Family History (Direct Line Chart) from Thomas Shipley. Thomas Shipley, father of Richard, was born in Egland in 1670. Richard was born in 1730 also in England. He was educated as a civil engineer. He emigrated to America at the age of 21 and was employed by Lord Baltimore to survey a tract of land near Baltimore, MD. He married Christine in 1758.
